Though the couple did not initially make their relationship public but were spotted together in and around the city a couple of times. Anushka in an interview in 2014 had expressed her desire to get married in the traditional manner and in some place close to nature: “in a vineyard, perhaps” Sharma was quoted as saying. Sharma once confessed in an interview that marriage was on her agenda though the date had not been yet finalized. Reportedly the dates were finalized when the power-couple was in Sri Lanka this year in August. Anushka’s family priest decided on a December wedding though the couple decided to keep the news of the wedding date under wraps.

Rumours of Virat – Anushka’s wedding in December spread like wildfire the moment Virat opted out of the Test Match and the limited overs series against Sri Lanka in December for “personal reasons”. Virat was seen in Delhi airport at around 11.30 pm and his flight took off at 2.45am. Virat Kohli was wearing a jacket and half his face was hidden in his hoodie which made it difficult for people to recognize the cricketer. Virat Kohli also refused to let security personnel take pictures with him. Meanwhile, Anushka Sharma was spotted at the Mumbai airport on Thursday night with family members – father Ajay Kumar Sharma, mother Ashima Sharma and brother Karnesh along with their family Guru Maharaj Anant Baba of Anant Dham Atmabodh Ashram in Haridwar from where they flew off to Europe and boarded a Swiss Air Flight.

Initially Milan was thought to be the place where Anushka-Virat wedding was to take place but later on, it came to the notice that the marriage took place in Borgo Finocchieto Resort near Tuscany, about 4 hours drive from Milan in South Italy. This is the world’s second most expensive holiday destination and seems to be a place quite popular with celebrities. Borgo Finocchieto is where even the Obamas went on their vacation this year. As per reports, this place had been booked by the Sharma from the 9th to the 12th of December, 2017.

 

 

The luxury resort where Anushka-Virat marriage ceremony took place is an 800-year-old restored village having massive historical importance. As reported by an online portal the wedding took place in an exquisite vineyard. The destination wedding comprised all the rituals that a Hindu wedding is proceeded by : an engagement, mehendi and haldi ceremonies.

There are speculations regarding the actress wearing wedding outfit designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee, the man who enjoys the reputation for his bridal collection as the actress was seen leaving the fashion designers house a week ago. Anushka had been flaunting Sabyasachi’s creation in nuptials recently visited by her so it wouldn’t be a surprise if the actress chooses to be designed by Mr. Mukherjee on her special day. The wedding ceremony was attended by close family members and was an intimate affair. If reports are to be believed the people involved in the Virat Kohli Anushka Sharma wedding like the photographers, caterers, hotel staffs were asked to sign Non Disclosure Agreements (NDA) but the couple has planned for two high profile grand reception one on the 21st of December and the other on 26th December (slated for friends and colleagues in Mumbai). Virat-Anushka’s invitation card is tastefully designed with pale silver embossments on an ivory background. The writing is in gold with the names of the couple written in a heritage-themed font and reads “We request the honor of your presence at the wedding reception of Anushka (Sharma) and Virat (Kohli). Doors of the Durbar Hall in the Taj Diplomatic Enclave will open to the hand-picked guests on 21st December at 8.30pm. Virat -Anushka is to register their marriage at the Bandra Family court on January 04, 2018 and registration forms for the purpose have reportedly been collected by Anushka.
